Thanks to the sharing of knowledge by Bubs, I am able to celebrate Elvis Presley's birthday in a timely fashion.
So, here is Robyn Hitchcock performing on the old Letterman show -- he's playing the wonderful song "Madonna of the Wasps" off his album Queen Elvis.
Yes, I'm stretching a bit, but it's a great song.
I do also have a genuine Elvis post which you may enjoy reading.
Happy Birthday, Elvis!

I love the line in "The Bones of Her Magisty the Queen" about how he doesn't suppose she ever chops up logs.
And that line in a different song about seeing the Devil in the nude (it was embarassing, I turned away...) Brilliant!!
That's my very fave Robyn tune — and I sent it to a friend just last Saturday. Thanks so much, Sir Splotch!
Robyn Hitchcock. And such a great song.
Oh Splotchy, wow. I loves me some Robyn, I loves me some Splotchy.
I love that song, and Robyn Hitchcock in general!
PS
His song "Balloon Man" has one of my favorite-ever lines in a song-- "And it rained like a slow divorce."
You’ve been TAGGED!
Love Robyn Hitchcock! The first time I heard him I thought it was some Syd Barret.
Johnny Yen had to bring up Balloon Man.
Damn.
