Monkeyfingered

Hi.

Chances are you haven't seen my post from exactly one year ago today about ringdinging.

For this post, the relevant definition to this made-up word is the following:

ringdinging
Pronunciation: \ˈriŋ-diŋ-iŋ\
Function: noun
2: -- The act of promoting one's self through the introduction of some lazy conceit, or a feeble twist on a preexisting novel concept.

With that in mind, I present to you a new word I made up: monkeyfingered.

Being monkeyfingered is very similar to being rickrolled, except instead of this you get this.

I think the act of being rickrolled is funnier than being monkeyfingered, but I think "monkeyfingered" as a word is superior to "rickrolled".

To ensure your victim's surprise, use this URL, which will present them with a friendly monkeyfinger without giving away the joke in the actual web address text:

You're welcome!

Too bad you didn't think of this in time for April Fool's Day!

Pretty neat. You should advertise the URL in your sidebar, unless that's not the lazy path to fame.

But I thought ringdinging was where a character speaks the title of the episode in a short line. Or is that just a kind of ringdinging? Help a former lazy English major out here.

This one had me laughing out loud! Awesome!

vikki, there's nothing foolish about getting monkeyfingered -- it's a solemn moment shared between two souls meeting in a weary world.

tim, consider it advertised! Regarding the definition, yeah, the first definition of ringdinging is about characters saying the name of the show/movie they are in, but the second definition is the one included in the post.

some guy, thank you for your support!

Monkey fingering delivers as promised!

Would it be ringdinging if I suggested somehow combining monkeyfingering with rickrolling? -- like, adding a two-second, silent monkeyfingering frame to the rickrolling vid?

barbara, I'm happy your expectations were so solidly met!

bsuwg, y'know, that ain't a bad idea. Though I think you might be able to afford to get Rick Astley to actually give the finger.
